My name is Kaycie
but you can call me casey, kacie, kasey, kc, or kayce
Looking back, I always wanted to be a copywriter. As a kid, I was so fascinated by commercials that I would take my television bathroom breaks during the show instead of during the “scheduled” ones. I was constantly creating new jingles, writing scripts, and making my littlest pet shops reenact them. My friends and I even had an immediate discussion group every time a new Geico ad would come out (Drill Sergeant as a Therapist is still my favorite).
I always thought it would be cool to make ads when I got older. However, my 10-year-old brain said,
“That can’t be a real job… it’s too fun!”
It took me longer than I’d like to admit that my child self was wrong. It was obviously a real job lol. Now, you may be wondering, “Kaycie, what made you realize this?” Embarrassingly, I can thank this career track to Rick and Morty. If it wasn’t for the dad and his “Hungry for Apples” campaign, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So, uhh, I guess thank you Rick and Morty?
